The Washington Mystics

The Washington Mystics have won the 2019 WNBA Championships with a 89-78 win against Connecticut Sun. This is their first time winning a WNBA Championship in franchise history. They were both 2-2 in the 5 game series so it was anyones ball game, but the Mystics came out on top. The star player Emma Meesseman finished the game with 22 total points and earned the MVP award.

“We needed me to make shots,” Meesseman said after the game. “I don’t think I would have done this a year ago, two years ago.”

The District of Columbia now celebrates this new teams victory with pride and joy.
