Champe’s dance team is looking for new members. Usually, try-outs take place at the end of May for the new year. However, since there are not as many members, this year the team will be hosting tryouts again sometime in October.  Students from both Champe and Willard will be able to try out. However, students at Willard will be responsible for finding their own ride back to Willard, since practices are in the morning. Students should prepare for tryouts by reviewing the following technical elements: toe touch, extension, leaps/leap sequence, double and triple turn, turn sequence, and flying disc. There are more components to it, so if anyone has questions he or she can contact Ms. Haug.

“Dance team really helped with my transition into high school,” said sophomore Trang Bui. “I really would recommend trying out since it’s a great environment to be in because of the support and helpfulness from upperclassmen.”

Joining an extracurricular is something that can really make a student’s high school experience more fun. There are many benefits to joining extracurriculars and dance team might be the one for someone out there. If there are any questions, students can contact Ms. Haug at Kristin.Haug@lcps.org.
