The JCHS Rocketry team has qualified for the largest national tournament of the American Rocketry Challenge. The team qualified from a pool of 615 teams. The tournament will take place in mid-June near Washington DC and will be fiercely competitive as well, including over 100 different teams from schools across the United States.

“Our students have worked very hard on both engineering and fundraising in the years leading up to this success,” club sponsor Jeffrey Horvath said. “It is amazing that even with the challenges that the pandemic presented, the students were able to qualify for the national finals.”

The prize for winning the competition is valued at over $100,000. Along with this, the members of the top 25 teams will receive invitations to the coveted NASA Student Launch workshop.

Best of luck to our Knights!
