After the Beltway series (series between the Nationals and Orioles that ended on the 23rd of May), the Nationals played three games against the Reds, three games against the Brewers, and started their four game series against the Braves. The Reds sandwiched their wins against the Nationals, winning the first and third games of the series. After that series, Milwaukee came to D.C. They swept the Nationals. The Nationals scored three runs in that entire series. Then, in the Nationals’ first game in their series against the Braves, they lost five to three. With that loss, their record dropped all the way to 21-29. A fall off from their 10-12 record entering the month of May.
