President Biden has released an official statement recognizing June as Pride Month. Although the event was acknowledged by the former president, there was no official recognition of Pride. Biden, who was Vice President when Gay marriage was legalized released a formal statement.

“Pride is a time to recall the trials the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer community has endured and to rejoice in the triumphs of trailblazing individuals,” Biden said.
