Eric Carle, the renowned children’s author, passed away on May 26th at the age of 91. Known for his classics like, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” and, “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?”, Carle has been a key figure in the early literature of children from the 1960s. Almost anyone would be able to identify a Carle work since his books are known for their simple illustrations and bright colors that were actually created through pieces of tissue paper being put together. Even after his passing, Carle’s books will continue to be a staple piece in the libraries and bookshelves of all children across the country.
