Former Senator John Warner Dies at 94

Former Virginia Senator, John Warner, passed away at the age of 94 with his wife and daughter at his side. Warner passed away from heart failure on Tuesday at his home in Alexandria,Virginia. Warner was a Republican Senator who was elected in 1978 and went on to serve five terms. He was mainly known for his role as a Navy secretary and for his influence as a military expert in Senate. Warner was extremely popular in Virginia and his unique ideologies gained him the loyalty and support of Virginia residents. Warner retired from the chamber in 2008 and was succeeded by Senator Mark Warner, who has the same last name but has no relation to the former senator. Mark Warner shared on twitter that John Warner was a gold standard in Virginia and that he is eternally grateful for the mentorship he has received from him.
