‘Shadow and Bone’ Released on Netflix

Shadow and Bone, Netflix’s most recent, highly-anticipated fantasy series, is officially out on Netflix as of Friday. The series is an adaptation of the bestselling Grishaverse books by Leigh Bardugo. Many fans of the series were overjoyed to see their favorite characters come to life on the big screen. The tv series is based off of two of Bardugo’s book series: Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows. Fans took to Twitter to share their love for the show and express how impressed they were with the outcome of the adaptation: “Guys you have to watch #ShadowAndBone its so bloody good… a must watch… its the best thing I’ve seen since GoT. The cinematography is perfection.”

The show has been out for only five days, and has already reached number one on Netflix in multiple countries, including the US and the UK. Bardugo stated in an interview how the show would be somewhat different than the books, due to the fact that the first Shadow and Bone book and the first Six of Crows book do not follow the same timeline. Bardugo was wary of the idea of changing the stories completely, so she made sure the plotlines were still somewhat the same throughout both series. In the same interview, Bardugo said, “So what we decided early on, was we were going to Frankenstein the characters, we weren’t gonna Frankenstein the plotlines.”
