One of the most famous jewelry designers, Halston model, and studio 54 regular, Elsa Peretti, passed away in her sleep on Thursday in her home just outside of Barcelona.
Peretti was born in Florence, Italy, and then was educated in Rome and Switzerland after that she moved to Barcelona to begin her career in modelling where she found a new community of artists. Her cuff bracelets, open heart pendants, and bean designs are what she is most known for but her timeless designs were often inspired by nature. She has also designed bowls, magnifying glasses, razors, and a pizza cutter in sterling silver.
