The Washington Nationals release relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress. This move came as a huge surprise to everyone outside of the Nationals organization because, well, they had just signed him a few days prior. Mark Zuckerman, a reporter for MASN (the Mid Atlantic Sports Network) tweeted out that the Nationals’ General Manager, Mike Rizzo, said that the release was for “personal reason” and had nothing to do with performance. Most Nationals fans, as a result of this release, were pretty upset because Jeffress just had a 1.54 ERA in 2020.
