New York governor, Andrew Cuomo, is being asked to resign by many people in New York after new allegations surfaced against him. Six women have accused Cuomo of inappropriately touching them without their consent. Although Cuomo has denied these accusations, they are too serious to be ignored. Cuomo is also facing backlash for his scandal over claims that his administration has hid the number of deaths tied to Covid-19 outbreaks in nursing homes.

Some people are calling for Cuomo’s resignation; however, others are calling for his impeachment which are two very different things. Since only one New York governor has been impeached in history, it is very unlikely that Cuomo will be impeached, which is why more people are calling for his resignation. Democrats in New York plan on meeting to discuss “potential paths forward” regarding Cuomo’s position. Earlier today, one source said, “In light of the allegations concerning the governor over the last several weeks, I will be meeting with members in conference today on potential paths forward.”
