Children ages 6-17 years old  will be tested with the COVID-19 vaccine to test the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine in children.

There are approximately 300 volunteers enrolled in the trial that will look at the immune responses of kids.  240 volunteers will receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and a control group will get the meningitis vaccine which creates a similar reaction. The U.K. approved emergency use of this vaccine in late December for adults which was a vital since it’s cheaper and easier to ship than other vaccines in circulation.
