After suffering a miscarriage earlier this year, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their second child. The couple has had a rough year after breaking away from the British royal family and starting new lives in California. The couples spokesperson said, “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” and stated that the couple was “overjoyed to be expecting their second child.” It is unknown when the child is due or what the child’s gender will be, but the Prince and Markle took to Instagram to post a black and white photo of them cuddled together, Markle’s baby bump clearly visible.

Their second child is seen as a miracle child to them, due to their heartbreak over Meghan’s miscarriage. Markle claimed that she knew she was losing her child when she felt a sharp pain that took her to the ground. Not only did the miscarriage break her, but the lack of her ability to talk about it broke her as well. She attributed the taboo around miscarriages to shame and solitary mourning. When she finally built up the courage to discuss the trauma she faced regarding the miscarriage, she heartbreakingly said, “I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second.” Though they suffered greatly from their miscarriage, the couple seems very excited and hopeful about their new pregnancy.
