It was announced that Trevor Bauer would be signing with the New York Mets by USA Today columnist, Bob Nightengale. Bauer even put up Mets merchandise with him on his website. That merchandise was soon taken down as it was announced that Bauer wouldn’t be signing with the Mets, and instead would be signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bauer’s contract was announced to be three years for 102 million dollars. The false hope angered Mets fans, but days later, Bauer put out a sincere apology on twitter.
