After posting a TikTok lip syncing to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, fans started to speculate if that was 17-year-old pop-star JoJo Siwa coming out. She then posted a picture on Twitter wearing a shirt given to her by her cousin that said: Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever. This confirmed the news to fans that Siwa is part of the LGBTQ+ community. Ever since coming out, she has received loads of supportive comments from family, fans, and other famous celebrities. The former “Dance Moms” star received a sweet post on Instagram from her old instructor, Abby Lee Miller, which said: “I always knew the world would be a more colorful, positive, sparkly place with a kind, loving, dazzling triple threat like you in it – a shining example for the kids out there to live their BEST lives each and every day. *You put your heart on the platter! (If you know you know) Love you kiddo!!! Keep making me proud.”

Siwa went on Instagram Live on Saturday to answer some fan questions. While on live, she explained how she thinks she’s always known that she was part of the LGBTQ+ community, and that her parents have known for a while and have been very supportive of her. Being a Nickelodeon star, and having many young kids look up to her, Siwa coming out is big news. Although she has faced some hate comments from mothers whose children like her, Siwa is too happy being herself to let those comments get to her. She finished off her IG Live with some inspiring words: “Like my dad said, love is universal. You guys can love whoever you want to love, and you guys can do in life whatever you want to do. You can dream a dream and make that dream come true, no matter what. Just be happy, happiness is sometimes really hard. If something makes you happy, enjoy it. Just enjoy it, live in the moment. Don’t think too much, just kinda live.”
