On Saturday, Indonesian Jetliner, the Sriwijaya Air jet, crashed into the Java Sea minutes after taking off. The flight carried more than 60 people and so far 5 victims of the crash and some plane wreckage have been located. The plane left from Jakarta and was supposed to go to Pontianak, another city within the country. Due to the pandemic, this plane has not flown for nine months; however, it was inspected and deemed airworthy before being used for flight. Currently, investigators are trying to find the black box recorders that were part of the plane, which will be able to help determine the cause of the crash. Indonesia has been cursed with bad airplane disasters as crashes like this have occurred multiple times.
