House Members Test Positive for COVID-19 After Capitol Riot

House Democratic Reps. Brad Schneider, Pramila Jayapal, and Bonnie Watson have tested positive for COVID-19 since Monday. They tested positive with the virus after sheltering in place with representatives who refused to wear a mask during the Capitol Riot lockdown. Rep. Jayapal cited in a official statement that “many Republicans still refused to take the bare minimum COVID-19 precaution,” and created a super-spreader risk during a domestic terrorist attack.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced a mask mandate in July for all members and staffers on the House floor to combat the virus’s spread in Congress. House Democrats who have tested positive are working from home while preparing the article of impeachment against President Trump.
