The Bengals and Jets each pulled off huge upsets against playoff teams to shake up the AFC and NFC playoff races. The Jets faced off against the Rams on Sunday, and the Jets got off to a very hot start. The Jets lead 13-3 at halftime, and 23-10 after the third quarter. The Rams, however, wouldn’t go down without a fight. They scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to make it a three point game, but a clutch stop by the Jets’ defense ended up giving the Jets a 23-20 win, which was their first of the season.
The Bengals faced off against the Steelers in a Monday night primetime game. The Bengals, without their starting quarterback Joe Burrow, were huge underdogs heading into this matchup. The Bengals shutout the Steelers 17-0 in the first half, forcing tons of turnovers and playing well during their offensive drives. Then the third quarter hit, and the Steelers dominated. They scored 10 unanswered points, making it a 17-10 game. The Steelers, however, failed to capitalize on that momentum, getting out scored 10-7 in the fourth quarter, and 27-17 on the game.
