After many months of rumors, Apple has officially unveiled their own noise cancelling, over-the-ear headphones. These headphones are called AirPods Max, and are set to be released on December 15 at a shockingly high price of $549. These new headphones will come in five colors: space gray, silver, sky blue, green, and pink. The AirPods Max also come with a “smart case” that will automatically put the headphones into a low power state. They offer 20 hour battery life, which is much better than the original AirPods.
The design of these headphones was specifically created to be a competitor to Bose, Beats, and other major headphone brands. Apple, described their “revolutionary design” by saying, “The breathable knit mesh canopy, spanning the headband, is made to distribute weight and reduce on-head pressure. The stainless steel headband frame provides strength, flexibility, and comfort for a wide variety of head shapes and sizes. Telescoping headband arms smoothly extend and stay in place to maintain the desired fit. Each ear cup attaches to the headband through a revolutionary mechanism that balances and distributes ear cup pressure, and allows it to independently pivot and rotate to fit the unique contours of a user’s head.”
