CDC Advises Stricter Corona Virus Rules as Holidays Approach

The Centers for Disease Control offered new health and safety guidelines last week for people who are planning to host or attend small gatherings during the holidays. This year the holidays will look very different since coronavirus cases are surging across the country. The US CDC has released new guidelines which include: foregoing caroling, loud music, and drinking alcohol. The CDC advises to celebrate the holidays in small gatherings with your own household to reduce the spread of the virus. If you do go to a gathering it is best for it to be hosted outdoors, and not inside. Guests are also advised to wear masks at all times if not eating or drinking and to quarantine 14 days before and after the gathering to reduce the spread.

“We strongly encourage all Americans to follow these instructions so we can ensure everyone a happy and healthy 2020 holidays,” said Robert Redfield, CDC director. “We feel following these guidelines will greatly reduce the amount of cases.”
