A new kpop group from the popular Korean media company SM was released on November 17th with their debut song “Black Mamba” being highly controversial. Said to have plagiarized visuals from K/DA promotional music video from the League of Legends video game and other popular artists. While the company has not released any official statement about the alleged plagiarism, fans have been rather vocal about their opinions.

“I get that they want to make a big impact, but plagiarizing is not the way to go,” an anonymous kpop fan said. “Especially coming from a bigger company, they need to be more accountable.”

Despite the controversy, the music video has already reached nearly 40 million views as of 11/9/2020 and is currently trending on YouTube.
