New ‘Wonder Woman’ Movie to be Released

Merry Christmas! Warner Brothers just announced that “Wonder Woman 1984” will debut on HBO Max and in theaters on December 25 of this year. The movie will be available for streaming on HBO Max for a month at no additional cost to those subscribed. The film was originally supposed to hit theaters this past Summer, but because of the global pandemic, it was unsafe for the film to be released to theaters. Although 50% of US movie theaters are closed right now, releasing this film to the theaters will hopefully give struggling movie theaters a lifeline. Since the first “Wonder Woman” movie generated about $800 million people have hope that the new film can save some movie theater companies.

CEO of WarnerMedia Studios, Ann Sarnoff, said, “As we navigate these unprecedented times, we’ve had to be innovative in keeping our businesses moving forward while continuing to super-serve our fans…This is an amazing film that really comes to life on the big screen and working with our partners in the exhibition community, we will provide that option to consumers in the U.S. where theaters are open. We realize that a lot of consumers can’t go back to the movies due to the pandemic, so we also want to give them the option to see Wonder Woman 1984 via our HBO Max platform.”
