Tropical Storm Eta Hits Florida

Tropical Storm Eta just landed in Florida after bringing heavy rain to Cuba and the Bahamas. Mainly targeting the west coast of the state, the storm sustained maximum winds of 65 mph, but has weakened to 50 mph. As the storm progresses, Florida can expect some flash flooding in its urban parts of the coast. Many residents of the state woke up to flooded streets and knee-high water, and power outages across the state. The storm isn’t projected to travel any further, and it is likely that it will weaken in the coming days. While the rest of the country is not likely to see much damage from this storm, Eta could cause more damage in the Gulf of Mexico, but there is large uncertainty on what to expect.
