Current weather anchor on NBC´s Today show, Al Roker shared the sad news about his cancer diagnosis on the show today. Roker said the information was discovered after a routine check up in September. He is thankful the disease was found early however this form of cancer is very aggressive. He decided to go public with the information because he wanted to raise awareness for prostate cancer since it is very common in men, especially black men. His inspiration behind this is to share his journey so people can become educated and protect the men in their lives. Roker will be taking time off from the show to take care of himself and will be having surgery next week at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
