Nintendo’s profits rise due to the pandemic

Nintendo, reported Thursday that they had tripled their fiscal first half profit because many people are passing the time they are stuck at home playing games.

The company’s profit for the past six months through September was 213 billion yen ($2 billion) which is up from 62 billion yen last year. The company reportedly sold more than 5 million “Super Mario 3D All-Stars” software for the Nintendo Switch. Other releases like “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” has sold around 26 million units around the world. Nintendo’s online sales also saw an increase during this period, and they expect the sales to continue as the year goes on.
