Non-scalable fencing was built around the white house on Monday, as well as around Lafayette Square and Pennsylvania Ave in preparation for possible protests on Election Day.

Along with the fences, many businesses in Washington D.C. have boarded up their windows similar to those in New York City in case of violence. Police Chief Peter Newsham told reporters there haven’t been any threats of violence but there have been quite a few demonstration permit requests. There will also be parking restrictions enacted on Election Day along with possible road closures.
