Archaeologists in Peru found a 2,000 year old carving of a cat on the side of a hill during remodeling work at the UNESCO heritage site.
The carving was cleaned by archaeologists and lines that had widths varying from 12-16 inches which created an image 121 feet long. Peru’s ministry of culture stated that the style of the art shows that it was probably created between 200 B.C. to 100 B.C.. Cats were often represented in ceramics and textiles created in the Paracas society which is the society this carving had been created in, along with other animals such as hummingbirds, monkeys, and orcas.
