Earlier this week, actress Gal Gadot announced on Twitter that she will be playing Cleopatra in the upcoming Paramount Pictures Film. Gadot expressed that she is excited to tell the story and be a part of this incredible production. However, the internet has had several varying opinions on the casting. A lot of people are offended because Cleopatra was born in Egypt with Greek descent, however Gadot is Israeli. These people feel that an actress with this specific ancestry should play the role rather than Gadot. They also think that Hollywood is ¨whitewashing¨ the film by not picking an actress who looks similar to the real life Cleopatra. However fans of Gadot feel that her ancestry is not important and that she will be a great fit for the role.  People will only be able to justify their opinions once the film comes out and they see how Cleopatra has been represented.
