This past week, the Clayton County school board voted to rename one of its schools to honor former First Lady, Michelle Obama. The school will now be known as the Michelle Obama STEM Elementary School so long as the lady in question acquiescences.
“It’s important that we have more women of color represented,” an anonymous student said. “More of this, less outdated statues.”
The construction of the school is ongoing, and the name is pending Obama’s approval. However, the change will likely take effect by the coming summer.
