Dentists are slamming a new trend that has been circulating on popular app, Tik Tok, where people use nail files to sand down their uneven teeth. They claim it makes their teeth and smiles more symmetrical, dentists have commented and said it can cause permanent damage to teeth. Using this file can actually permanently remove the enamel surface of the teeth, which can cause them to decay, be extremely sensitive, and eventually fall out. Dentists strongly advise people to not follow this trend.

“Shaving your teeth down with a nail filer is no good,” said Dr Z Mackie from Detroit. “It can cause major sensitivity.”
