Tiktok, a viral video sharing app, has a chance of not being banned in the United States. Banning the app was proposed when U.S. government officials claimed the app is a breach to national security by exposing private information from the American public. President Trump has threatened to ban the app unless an American company takes it over. Initially, Microsoft offered a proposition, but it was rejected by the founders of tiktok, ByteDance, on September 13. Now Oracle, a computer tech corporation, has proposed a new plan waiting to be approved by President Trump. The plan states that ByteDance will still be the main owner of the app, but a new headquarters will be set up in the United States which will be controlled by Oracle. President Trump says he won’t approve anything until he sees the deal face to face.
