In the last week, rumors concerning the current state of North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, have been spiraling around the internet. It was originally stated that he had been in a failed cardiovascular surgery, which has now put him in a vegetative state. However, details on his whereabouts and the legitimacy of the story are still unsure. World leaders such as President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping, have all stated that they are unaware of the current situation in North Korea and believe that there is no such truth to the rumors.

However, if something were to happen to the North Korean leader, there is no known heir to the position. Many suspect that his sister, Kim Yo-jong, will take over. Yo-jong serves as First Deputy Director and de facto leader of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
