During this 2020 pandemic, many people look to officials for advice on what they should be doing; however, not every official gives advice that should be followed.

During a recent White House press briefing with the President of the United States there was a comment made by the President that shocked many doctors, scientist, and people around the world. When talking about treatments, President Trump brought up the idea of taking disinfectants as a way to treat the virus. This idea scared many around the world, especially doctors because they were not sure about who would take this suggestion from the President seriously. When later asked about this statement the President said that he was just being sarcastic, and wanted to see the press’s reaction to his absurd comment. During this hard time, scientists and doctors are working hard to find a treatment, and taking disinfectants is not one that they recommend.
