Iran has released a statement saying that they will temporarily release 54,000 prisoners, trying to combat the fight against Coronavirus. As of Friday, March 6th, 2020 there are 4,747 confirmed cases in Iran. Iran has one of the deadliest Coronavirus outbreaks outside of China, currently with 124 deaths. They released them all, in order to prevent over-crowded jails from spreading the disease.
