The Coronavirus Got An Official Name

The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially named the new Coronavirus strain that originated in China. They have decided to name it COVID-19, COVI for coronavirus, D for disease, and 19 for the year it was first identified 2019. They tried to make sure that the name had nothing to do with the place, people, food, or animals to avoid negative repercussions. In the beginning of January, many people started calling it the “Wuhan Virus”, a reference to where the virus originated from. More than 42,000 cases have been found in the world, with 13 of them being in the US. The death toll has now passed 1,000 people.
