Sewing Groups Doing Their Part to Aid in Australia Fires

Many baby kangaroos lost their mothers in the wildfires that are taking place in Australia, so people are making joey pouches for them.

These sewing groups are making cloth pouches to protect the baby kangaroos and other young marsupials who have lost their parents in the wildfires. People have also created bat wraps to aid in the recovery for injured animals. A particular group in Redding, California, lead by Kim Santry was inspired to support the cause after witnessing the Carr Fire and Camp Fire destroy a nearby town. After witnessing these fires the group understood what Australia is going through and wanted to do whatever they could to aid in the rescue and recovery of the animals harmed in the fires. Other groups like the Boy Scouts, Mood Fabrics, and the Dutch Quilting Society have joined Santry and the movement to help the Australian wildlife.
