On Monday, a volcano on White Island, New Zealand that was a popular tourist destination erupted unexpectedly. At least five people died and many have gone missing. Boats, ships, and emergency aircraft rescued 23 people from the island and after they were rescued, there was no sign of life on the island. This means that about 27 people remain missing or dead on the island. Many of the people who escaped got very bad burns, but they are still very lucky. An hour before the eruption, smoke was seen coming out of the volcano which sparked red flags for people on the island.
