Wrights and Responsibilities

This past week, students have been reviewing school policies and guidelines in Study hall presentations led by assistant principal, Mr. Solomon Wright. The presentation highlighted many key facts about Champe’s rules, paying particular attention to issues such as the dress code, school fights, and the use of racial slurs by all Champe students.

In the presentation, Wright explained that the monitoring of the “n” word was far too difficult to restrict to any one race, and that the decision to press equal consequences for the use of the word would be fairer as a whole, saying that no one gets “the pass.”

“People need to understand the history of a word before repeating it,” said Wright in his presentation. “Kids tend to forget that because they haven’t lived through it.”
