This past Tuesday, Heeling House brought in four therapy dogs and one service dog in training. Heeling House is a therapy and service dog organization that trains therapy dogs and brings them to hospitals, schools, libraries, and many more places. They also train service dogs for people and place them in a suitable home when they are old enough. As a part of Sources of Strength, they were able to bring the dogs to show how therapy dogs can relieve stress and help with mental health. This was held during lunch for everyone and required no sign up in order to attend. The dog’s handlers were also there to answer any questions about them and to educate people on the therapy dogs. According to many student, they really enjoyed petting the dogs and learning more about therapy and service dogs during lunch.
