Amber Guyger, a former police, has recently been given a 10-year sentence in prison. One night, last year, the off-duty Dallas Police officer fatally shot her neighbor, thinking he had broken into her apartment. When she went to trial there was a possibility of getting the sentence for life, but prosecutors called for 28 years in jail, still higher than what the jury offered. However, after they said the punishment, something surprising happened. The brother of Botham Jean, the neighbor who got shot, forgave her. He said that because of his christian faith, he doesn’t hate her, and loves her as a person.

Many people are saying that 10 years is too little. In many cases, when the victim is a black man who was shot by a white police officer, the consequences for the police officer are too little. many people agree that that is what is going on right now. People are currently protesting for her to get more years added to her sentence.
