John Champe’s Varsity Field Hockey team kicked off their 2019 season last night at Stone Bridge High School playing their rival Freedom High School.
For the past three weeks, the team has been preparing for their kick off game against Freedom by working on team chemistry and strategy. Despite a well fought second, the team lost 5-2 Freedom High School. The team was still able to take away important lessons and skills that can be carried on to upcoming games.
“Even though we lost last night, John Champe Field Hockey has never started off a season so strong,” senior captain Kaylie Halsey said. “I’m so excited to see where we go this year- It’s just the beginning of the season and our drive as a team is already greater than ever!”
