Actresses Lori Laughlin and Felicity Huffman, along with dozens of other parents, coaches, and college prep executives, have been accused of a national conspiracy of helping students get into prestigious colleges. Apparently the scheme had two parts. One was that the college prep executives were taking tests for students, and the other part was that coaches were being bribed by parents to accept students as college recruits.

Athletic coaches from colleges like Yale and Stanford are currently being investigated. “Operation Varsity Blues” has already charged 50 people.

“There can be no separate college admission system for the wealthy, and I’ll add that there will not be a separate criminal justice system either,” U.S. attorney for Massachusetts Andrew Lelling said. “For every student admitted through fraud, an honest genuinely talented student was rejected.”
