U.S. skier Lindsey Vonn has considered moving up her retirement after failing to finish a World Cup super-G and her knee injuries becoming worse since undergoing multiple knee surgeries.

She was planning on retiring this coming December, which may have given her enough time to get the five more wins that she needed to break the World Cup record held by Ingemar Stenmark from Sweden. Stenmark has 86 victories that has given him the record.

Vonn’s left knee was recently damaged in November, while her right knee has been permanently damaged from previous injuries. She has continued to compete since the injuries occurred, wearing braces on both knees and going through rehab every day.
