After 21 hours of negotiations, Los Angeles teachers are on strike for the sixth consecutive school day. The strike is for smaller class sizes, better pay, and more school counselors and nurses.

“We’re doing this as a life passion to improve our community,” said Erika Huerta, teacher at Los Angeles’s Garfield High School.

The strike has cost the LA school district over 125 million dollars already, as California funds schools based upon daily attendance. Some parents have been keeping their kids out of school on purpose in an attempt to get the district to budge. However, the strike currently does not seem to have a certain end.
