Grace Mugabe Warranted Arrest in South Africa

Zimbabwe's former president Robert Mugabe and his wife Grace in Harare, Zimbabwe, July 29, 2018

The former first lady of Zimbabwe has been warranted for arrest. She was accused of assaulting a model in a hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mrs. Mugabe stated that the act was out of self-defense, saying that the model was “drunk and unhinged.” The model, Gabriella Engles, said that Mrs. Mugabe viciously assaulted her with an extension cord. The warrant was issued last Thursday of this week. The Zimbabwean authorities are seeking the help of Interpol in order to track down the former first lady. The South African government is currently neutral towards the whole situation, debating on whether they go for the extradition of Mrs. Mugabe or not.
