On November 30, former president George H.W. Bush passed away at the age of 94. Bush, who had been dealing with Parkinson’s disease and many health issues over the past few years, said he did not want to go to the hospital. Instead he said that he was ready to be with Barbara, his wife who passed away this April, and their daughter Robin, who died due to leukemia at a young age. Bush spoke his final words in a phone call to his son George W. Bush. His son told him how he was a “wonderful father” and his father replied with: “I love you, too.”
Bush Senior lived a very full life. At the age of eighteen he joined the Navy and became one of the youngest aviators during World War II. After serving until 1945, he joined Yale University. In 1948 he moved to West Texas where he joined the oil business and founded his own company. Soon after, he entered politics and ended up losing his first election for the U.S Senate in 1964. However, in 1966 he won the House of Representatives election. After that he got higher and higher in U.S politics and finally became president in 1989.
