This past week, hundreds of immigrants broke away from their peaceful protest to illegally enter the United States. This caused U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers to shutdown traffic and also use tear gas as defense. Pepper spray and rubber bullets were said to have been also used. There is a lot of controversy over what happened. The officers said that some of the immigrants were throwing projectiles towards them, and that they(the officers) had to protect themselves. Mexico’s foreign ministry is calling for a full investigation of the incident. The Trump administration stands by the decisions of the officers.
