The Boston Red Sox won the World Series last night with a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. This was the teams’ fourth win in fifteen years.

Steve Pearce hit two home runs for Boston; he will join Babe Ruth and Ted Kluszewski as the only thirty-five and older players to have a multi-homer World Series game. Pearce was also named World Series MVP.

This was the ninth time the team has been in the World Series. This placed them third of all teams in Major League Baseball’s history to attend the World Series the most times; the New York Yankees being first and having attended twenty-seven times and the St. Louis Cardinals being second attending eleven times.
