This past week, something quite wild happened at the recent UFC match. Connor McGregor, who returned to the octagon after two years, went up against Russian native Khabib Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov, in the end, won the match. However, it’s what happened afterward that surprised everyone. Nurmagomedov jumped out of the octagon and went towards Dillon Danis, who was apart of McGregor’s entourage. To make the matter even worse, a few people from Nurmagomedov’s group jumped into the ring and started to attack McGregor. People watching the event were shocked.
“I don’t understand how people can talk about how I jump on the cage,” Nurmagomedov said in the UFC press conference. “He talked about my religion, he talked about my country, he talked about my father.”
Nurmagomedov later apologized for his actions, stating that it wasn’t his best side and that he’s a human being. However, he stated that McGregor’s actions provoked him. Nurmagomedov, who is a Muslim, was disrespected during the press conference for UFC 229. McGregor repeatedly called cursed him out and mocked his beliefs on not drinking. McGregor also put out a post on Instagram calling Nurmagomedov’s father a “quivering coward”. There have also been statements made out by people in the UFC who say that Danis had been provoking Nurmagomedov with racial slurs. Danis, however, has denied this. When looking at the whole event, no one person is in the wrong. Both parties are guilty in some way for whatever happened. However, is there one person who carried more blame than the other?
