There Goes Florence

<> on September 15, 2018 in Kinston, United States. Hurricane Florence made landfall in North Carolina as a Category 1 storm Friday and at least five deaths have been attributed to the storm, which continues to produce heavy rain and strong winds extending out nearly 200 miles.

Hurricane Florence made its mark on the east coast. To be more specific, the Carolinas. Although the hurricane was thought to make some landfall at Northern VA, all that happened was days of drizzling rain and humidity.

Unfortunately, the hurricane had devastating affects in the Carolinas. The hurricane made its first strike at 7:15 A.M. on Friday, in Wrightsville Beach, NC. The winds were around 90 mph, there was a flood building up, and there were already two people dead. It eventually became a tropical storm by the evening of Friday. By then, around 13 people died. Though it seemed that the storm had died out, the storm strikes back again with another flooding on Sunday. After its last strike, the hurricane became a post-tropical storm. The death toll was 40.

A donation fund for the hurricane is currently up. So far, it has made over a million dollars from around the nation. You can donate at https://www.redcross.org/donate/hurricane-florence-donations.html.
